5 reasons
why you should love Jewish people
(from a Biblical, spiritual, and political perspective)
reason #5
blessing
From the beginning, God established one of the firsts covenants with Abraham, after the creation and fall of man. He promised to call out a people, beginning the story to reveal God's lofty plan of restoration. He promised to bless those who bless His people, and curse those who curse His people. Even though over time the Diaspora (the spreading of a people group to other parts of the world) has created a complicated line, God still knows who are His.
reason #4
connection
It's called Judeo-Christian for a reason. Christianity cannot exist without Judaism, and politically Judaic values influence the United States government. The United Stated and Israel are allies and have been ever since Zionists founded Israel in 1948. Many laws, that influence social, cultural, and political values, stem from the Ten Commandments, which come from the Hebrew Bible.
reason #3
prophets
nothing in the Old Testament belongs to a Christian, nor is true without the completion of the New Testament. Without YOU being "grafted" into the big picture of history, the David and Goliath story is not a part of your history. Everything leading up to Jesus, Jesus himself, and every major dispensation, (ie creation, fall, kings, etc) is either Jewish, or in a Jewish context. Christians receive the law, the prophets, and covenant from Jewish people.
reason #2
memory
the book of Romans explicitly says that God has not cast away His people or forgotten them. The design of the chosen people and the church is a mystery of the mercy, wisdom, and justice of God.
reason #1
fear
fear with holy reverence and awe that you have an opportunity to believe; you have an opportunity to receive the promises and be connected to an eternal story, and not forever cast away. We also receive an even greater blessing for believing without seeing.
Love,
Hannah
