here is a Biblical reason not only to support, not only to defend, not only to remember, but to actually love. Here, the apostle Paul reveals his heart for Jewish people.

questions to consider before reading this passage:

was this a very long time ago?

was this his own ethnicity?

does the past matter today?

does this apply to you?

the answer to all of these questions is YES. Even though this was very long time ago, and the apostle Paul was declaring his love for the Jewish people, if you are in Christ, this applies to you for Biblical and spiritual reasons. God has gone out of his way to include you in a story- a story that is bigger than you and me. You may have different opinions about American politics, the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, and even different expressions of faith. However, what are you going to do with the texts from God's Word?

Christ came as a Jew, for the Jewish people, through a Jewish line, only to be rejected by a Jewish heritage -

to open the door for YOU.

"I tell the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Spirit, that I have great sorrow and continual grief in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my countrymen according to the flesh, who are Israelites, to whom pertain the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the service of God, and the promises; of whom are the fathers and from whom, according to the flesh, Christ came, who is over all, the eternally blessed God. Amen." Romans 9:1‭-‬5 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/rom.9.1-5.NKJV
